My First Visit With My Mentor

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

3:15 P.M. -- 5:15 P.M.

My first visit with my mentor was on a Tuesday. We met each other and spoke about ourselves at first. Her name is , and she is twenty one years old. She works at the Gymboree playing place next to the store Rattle and Rhymes. I could say that my mentor is an excellent resource because she interacts with children almost every day. She observes and helps children develop their capacities. I was told by her that the agreement of the project mentor hours was explained by her thorough Mr. Siegmund.

Thankful, was the first word I greet her with. I told her I appreciate the time she is spending to help me with my senior project. I also told her I was glad I was helping her out with the hours she has to do herself for her school. We agreed to have our taken cared of on Tuesdays. So every Tuesday we will be working together for my project.

So the first, hour was very interesting until it got boring…… I mean boring because on the second hour we had together she corrected my paper. Since I turn my rough draft in late, I only had one other student from my class to correct my paper. She told me she was an English major so I got excited and knew she could really help me out with correcting my rough draft.

She decided to read over my rough draft like two times and wanted the paper to be perfect, or at least try to make it perfect. Wow!!!! What was I suppose to do while she went over my rough draft???? Well I decided to stay in the place I was seated on and stare at her while she was going over my paper. My decision caused me boringness so I am not going to complain.

It was fifteen minutes before the class would be over and, my mentor didn’t finish correcting my rough draft. I was shocked because she took so much time to correct five pages of my rough draft and not finish correcting all of it if it wasn’t the length it was suppose to be. Well I told her that it was ok if she didn’t finish, because I had to go home when class was over. The first visit of my mentor didn’t go so bad until the end. What got me happy was that at least I had completed two hours with my mentor so I was half way through to completing my hours, in order to make my mentor log…
